Join Us About Membership: CMH has four kinds of membership. See CMH Structures HERE. About Joining: CMH has held "Induction Ceremonies" in Washington DC (1/10), New York (6/10), London (7/10) and Sedona (9/10). You can see more information about these at EVENTS and PROGRAMS. The Induction Ceremony, with its Transmission Rite, Sharing of the Vows, and Presentation of the Cords is a moving ceremony that, at some time, all CMH members will share in. In the meantime, many CMH members who have not had the chance to attend an induction ceremony in person have joined the community in absentia. How does it work? You can join the growing CMH community by simply enrolling in the community. Enrollment invites you into the conversation the community is having and gives you access to the materials and activities the community is providing. Its a chance for us to meet you and you to meet us. In the interim period while you have not been able to attend an Induction Ceremony you are still a member. However, any activities you would wish to create as a member of CMH, representing CMH, would need the approval of the community's "Leadership Circle". And, similarly, the "Leadership Circle" (a self-select circle recently approved by the community) also determines what the community is doing and what programs and activities constitute its "official" activities. CMH uses a "holarchical" circle-style group leadership, not a hierarchical one. Steps for Joining: You should do two things. First, inquire of the CMH Administrator at kurtjohnsonisd@yahoo.com so we can get familiar with you. Then, you'll be instructed to go to www.ouni.org (the website of our umbrella network, the Order of Universal Interfaith [OUnI]). At that website click on JOIN and select the option to "Join the Community of The Mystic Heart" (you can also join OUnI if its purposes and activities also are appropriate for you, or for that matter, any of the "Participating Communities" in OUnI). Whatever your selection, a short questionnaire will appear for you to fill out on your computer (you can be informal about detail) to satisfy the laws of the District of Columbia where we were founded. However, inquiry to the CMH Administrator is advised first-- so we can get a sense of who you are. When you have completed enrollment, you will also hear from T. S. Pennington, the Leadership Circle member overseeing new membership, and Kurt Johnson the CMH Administrator, supplying additional information. It's likely you'll hear as well from Tim Miner, the Secretary of OUnI. ______________________
